Shalom School is a ministry of Shalom Church in Guatemala City, Guatemala. It is accredited by the Guatemalan government through the Ministry of Education and teaches a Christian-based curriculum. It offers classes from pre-k through the senior level of high school. The ministries of Shalom Church and Shalom School are touching people in the local community, the country and around the world.
The Mission
Shalom School is a Christian institution that equips students with the proper education and life skills needed to fulfill their purpose and achieve their dreams. Teachers provide spiritual guidance and teaching based on biblical values and principles. The school’s main mission is to educate, guide and help students to recognize and fulfill their purpose and potential in life.

Classes and after-school activities offered at Shalom School include:
- Christian education
- Computer skills
- English in all grade levels
- Physical education
- Cooking / Home Economics
- Music
- Carpentry
- Band
- Karate
- Cheerleading
- Crafts
In 2007, Shalom Foundation donors provided 20 new computers for the school’s computer lab. Shalom Foundation donors also assisted in providing new textbooks for the students and funds to be used for improvement to the school grounds. A blessed year, 2007 also saw a record number of individuals serving as Child Sponsors.
2008 School Calendar
The Shalom School year begins January 15 and ends October 15, with graduation held each year in early November.
In conjunction with Easter, the School will celebrate Holy Week March 17 – 25. The mid-year break will be July 1-7. All students will take tests and/or exams during the following weeks:
- March 3 – 14
- May 12 – 23
- July 14 – 25
- September 29 – October 10
- November - graduation
